Meet our Founder...
Kelly Ann Ford, the Founder of Forty Over 50, is a theatre professional, filmmaker and gerontologist. Ms. Ford's background in theatre and the arts, along with a lifetime experience of caregiving, has brought her to the field of gerontology through study of the positive effects of creativity on the aging process.
As an entertainment professional, she has been the director of numerous acclaimed stage productions and world premieres for theatre companies throughout L.A. – for which she has garnered several awards and nominations, including the GLAAD Award for Outstanding Los Angeles Theatre and an NAACP nomination for Best Director.
She has written, directed and produced short films, web series and music videos (1.5 million+ YouTube views) featuring established talent and reaching a wide audience – from ‘tweens to boomers.
The inspiration behind the Forty Over 50 Project was born out of her deep desire to change the way our culture approaches longevity and aging by empowering older men and women to take the lead and be the voice of their own generation. Because, in the words of the great Gertrude Stein...
